1. Who we are

CLIQ FM is a web radio station based in Quebec, Canada, dedicated to music created in whole or in part in Quebec.

This policy describes how we collect, use and protect your personal information in accordance with Quebec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector, as amended by Law 25, and Canada's PIPEDA.

2. What we collect

2.1 — Information you provide voluntarily

• Contact form: first name, last name, email address, subject, message
• Special song request: first name, last name, email, song title and artist
• Music submission (artists): first name, last name, email, phone/cell, song title, artists, year of release, EP or album name, ISRC code, explicit content, audio file, cover image, optional press release (PDF or link), optional press photos link, optional artist jingle
• Advertising request: first name, last name, email, phone/cell, advertisement name, company name, number of months, desired start date, advertisement audio and image
• Newsletter subscription: email address only

2.2 — Information collected automatically

• PHP session cookie (PHPSESSID) — set on every visit; keeps your language choice (FR/EN) and makes the forms and admin panel work. Deleted when you close your browser.
• Local preference (browser localStorage) — whether the app-install prompt has already been shown. Never shared.
• Cloudflare Turnstile — anti-bot verification, set by Cloudflare on its own domain (not CLIQ FM).
• Server logs — IP address, browser, requested URL, timestamp. Kept 30 days for security and statistics.
• Music playback history — songs played on the radio (no listener information stored).
• Google advertising cookies (AdSense) — set and read by Google and its partners to display and measure the ads shown on this site. Ads on this site are non-personalized by default (see section 2.4).

2.3 — What we DO NOT collect

• ❌ No Facebook / Instagram tracking pixel
• ❌ No geolocation, microphone or camera access
• ❌ No payment information

2.4 — Google ads (AdSense)

Ads are displayed on this site by Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.

• How Google uses this data: How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.

On this site, ad personalization is turned off by default. CLIQ FM asks Google to show only non-personalized ads: they are not chosen based on your browsing history or your profile, but on the context (for example, the page you are reading and your approximate location). Google may still use cookies or similar identifiers for non-personalized ads, to limit how often an ad is shown, to produce aggregated statistics and to fight fraud and abuse.

CLIQ FM never sends Google the information you provide in our forms.

3. Why we collect it

• Display ads (Google AdSense), which keep the station free to listen to
• Respond to your contact messages and special requests
• Evaluate music submissions and contact artists
• Process advertising requests and send broadcast confirmations
• Send our newsletter (only with explicit subscription)
• Ensure site security (anti-spam, intrusion prevention)

4. How we protect it

• HTTPS / TLS 1.3 encryption on all pages
• Passwords hashed with bcrypt (irreversible)
• CSRF tokens on all admin forms
• IP rate limiting (3 failed logins = 15 min lockout)
• Cloudflare Turnstile anti-bot verification on public forms
• Strict security headers (CSP, HSTS, X-Frame-Options, etc.)
• SQLite database protected from direct web access
• Sessions with HttpOnly + Secure + SameSite=Strict cookies

5. How long we keep it

• Contact messages and special requests: 2 years after last interaction, then anonymized or deleted
• Music submissions: kept while the song is being evaluated or broadcast; deleted on request
• Advertising contracts: 7 years (legal accounting obligation)
• Newsletter subscribers: until you unsubscribe
• Music playback history (titles and artists played, no information about listeners): 13 months then auto-deleted
• Login attempt logs: 15 minutes after success
• Admin audit log: 1 year
• Server logs: 30 days

6. Who we share it with

We never sell your information. We share it only when strictly necessary:

• Hostinger (web host, EU based) — encrypted file storage
• Cloudflare (anti-bot Turnstile, USA based) — adequate protection under Quebec rules
• Titan Email (email service, India based) — used for our internal correspondence service
• Apple iTunes Search — public API, no personal information sent
• Live365 (streaming, USA based) — broadcasts the audio stream. When you listen, your device connects to Live365's servers, which receive technical information such as your IP address. Live365 holds the SOCAN and Re:Sound licences and reports the songs played (no information about you)
• Google (AdSense, USA based) — displays ads on the site and may use cookies (see section 2.4); none of your form information is sent to Google

7. Your rights (Law 25 / PIPEDA)

At any time, you can:

• Request access to your personal information held by CLIQ FM
• Request correction of inaccurate information
• Request deletion of your information
• Withdraw your consent (unsubscribe from newsletter, withdraw a music submission, etc.)
• File a complaint with the Quebec Access to Information Commission if you believe your rights have been violated

To exercise these rights: submit a written request via the contact form on our site (select "General message" and explain your request). We will respond within 30 days.

8. Children

CLIQ FM is open to everyone. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 14. If you are a parent and believe your child sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Changes to this policy

This policy may change. The current version is always available at https://www.cliqfm.ca/confidentialite.php. Major changes will be announced on the site.
