1. Who we are

CLIQ FM is a web radio station based in Quebec, Canada, dedicated to music created in whole or in part in Quebec.

This policy describes how we collect, use and protect your personal information in accordance with Quebec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Bill 25) and Canada's PIPEDA.

2. What we collect

2.1 — Information you provide voluntarily

  • Contact form : first name, last name, email address, subject, message
  • Special song request : first name, last name, email, song title and artist
  • Music submission (artists) : first name, last name, email, phone/cell, song title, year of release, ISRC code, audio file, cover image, optional press release, optional artist jingle
  • Advertising request : first name, last name, email, phone/cell, company name, advertisement audio and image
  • Newsletter subscription : email address only

2.2 — Information collected automatically

  • PHP session cookie (PHPSESSID) — required for forms and admin panel. Deleted when you close your browser.
  • Local preferences (browser localStorage) — language choice (FR/EN), PWA install popup state. Never shared.
  • Cloudflare Turnstile — anti-bot verification, set by Cloudflare on its own domain (not CLIQ FM).
  • Server logs — IP address, browser, requested URL, timestamp. Kept 30 days for security and statistics.
  • Music playback history — songs played on the radio (no listener information stored).

2.3 — What we DO NOT collect

  • ❌ No Google Analytics
  • ❌ No Facebook / Instagram tracking pixel
  • ❌ No advertising or analytics cookies
  • ❌ No geolocation, microphone or camera access
  • ❌ No payment information

3. Why we collect it

  • Respond to your contact messages and special requests
  • Evaluate music submissions and contact artists
  • Process advertising requests and send broadcast confirmations
  • Send our newsletter (only with explicit subscription)
  • Generate SOCAN and Re:Sound copyright reports
  • Ensure site security (anti-spam, intrusion prevention)

4. How we protect it

  • HTTPS / TLS 1.3 encryption on all pages
  • Passwords hashed with bcrypt (irreversible)
  • CSRF tokens on all admin forms
  • IP rate limiting (3 failed logins = 15 min lockout)
  • Cloudflare Turnstile anti-bot verification on public forms
  • Strict security headers (CSP, HSTS, X-Frame-Options, etc.)
  • SQLite database protected from direct web access
  • Sessions with HttpOnly + Secure + SameSite=Strict cookies

5. How long we keep it

  • Contact messages and special requests : 2 years after last interaction, then anonymized or deleted
  • Music submissions : kept while the artist account exists; deleted on request
  • Advertising contracts : 7 years (legal accounting obligation)
  • Newsletter subscribers : until you unsubscribe
  • Music playback history : 30 days then auto-deleted
  • Login attempt logs : 15 minutes after success
  • Admin audit log : 1 year
  • Server logs : 30 days

6. Who we share it with

We never sell your information. We share it only when strictly necessary :

  • Hostinger (web host, EU based) — encrypted file storage
  • Cloudflare (anti-bot Turnstile, USA based) — adequate protection under Quebec rules
  • Titan Email (email service, India based) — used for our internal correspondence service
  • Apple iTunes Search — public API, no personal information sent
  • Live365 (streaming, USA based) — broadcasts the audio stream
  • SOCAN / Re:Sound — only the song playback CSV report (no listener information)

7. Your rights (Bill 25 / PIPEDA)

At any time, you can :

  • Request access to your personal information held by CLIQ FM
  • Request correction of inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of your information
  • Withdraw your consent (unsubscribe from newsletter, withdraw a music submission, etc.)
  • File a complaint with the Quebec Access to Information Commission if you believe your rights have been violated

To exercise these rights : submit a written request via the contact form on our site (select « General message » and explain your request). We will respond within 30 days.

8. Children

CLIQ FM is open to everyone. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 14. If you are a parent and believe your child sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Changes to this policy

This policy may change. The current version is always available at https://www.cliqfm.ca/confidentialite.php. Major changes will be announced on the site.
