Are you an artist, a band member or part of a management team? Submitting a song to CLIQ FM is free, and our team listens to every submission.
Who can submit
CLIQ FM only plays music created in whole or in part in Quebec. Songwriter, composer, performer or producer: if an important link in the creative chain is from here, your song is eligible, whatever its language. We mostly play pop, rock, indie, electro and alternative, and we welcome emerging artists as much as established ones.
What to prepare
- Your audio file in MP3 format, 15 MB maximum. Send your best mastered version.
- Your cover art: a square JPG image, 10 MB maximum. It is shown on our site and on listeners' screens while your song plays.
- Your ISRC code (format CC-XXX-YY-NNNNN), the original release year and, if applicable, the name of the EP or album.
- Whether the song contains explicit content (yes, no or censored version).
- A phone or cell number where we can reach you.
- Optional: a press release (PDF or link), a link to your press photos, and a short audio jingle of 10 seconds or less where you introduce yourself on our airwaves.
What happens next
Our team listens to your song and looks at three things: the quality of the recording, how well it fits our programming, and whether it meets the Quebec rule. When a song is accepted, you receive an email with the date of its first broadcast. From then on, you can follow its plays in our real-time history on the home page.
The ISRC code in short
The ISRC (International Standard Recording Code) identifies a specific recording. It has 12 characters: a country code, a registrant code, the year and a designation number. It is what links each play of your song to the right rights holders when royalties are declared. Your digital distributor usually assigns one when your song is released; otherwise, it can be obtained from the national ISRC agency.
Tips for a strong submission
- Check the spelling of the title and of every artist name: that is how they will appear on air, in our history and in royalty reports.
- Copy the ISRC exactly as your distributor provided it.
- Use a sharp cover without small text, since it is often displayed small.
- Record a jingle: listeners love hearing artists introduce their own song.
Your rights
Submitting a song grants CLIQ FM a non-exclusive licence to play it on our webradio, and you keep full ownership of your work. CLIQ FM is broadcast through Live365, which holds SOCAN and Re:Sound licences for Canada and reports our plays to them; these organizations then distribute royalties to rights holders.
